News and Updates

Hello everyone,

It’s been some time since I’ve updated this website. My last post was a little more than two years ago and there’s been some substantial changes in my life. I’ve never felt very personal online so I don’t feel the need to do any catching up, however, there are a few announcements I want to make.

First off, this post is me reigniting the blog! During the two years I’ve been gone I’ve rearranged my priorities in all different directions and lost track of the things I’ve wanted accomplish. In the meantime I focused more on writing stories and poetry, as well as contributing writing for local magazines. It’s healthy to occupy yourself with your passions, but there’s only so much satisfaction that comes from writing poetry alone in your room. Current topics, local events, controversial subjects, that’s where the pleasure in writing comes from for me. Because of that I’ve decided to start posting to this site regularly again.

There will be a few changes to come. For starters, I doubt anybody is still actively following me after two years. But that doesn’t bother me. The more significant change has been in my opinions. My fundamental beliefs are still the same, but experience has rounded out some of the sharp edges around my stances.

At the moment I’m still considering whether to take down certain past articles or to preserve them as a reminder for what I used to believe. Either way it’s important to note that we don’t always endorse everything we’ve said in the past, and the same applies here.

No doubt the world has changed significantly in the last two years, and we’ve all had to adapt to adapt with it. I’ve adapted the best I could, and I’m looking forward to what the future has to hold.

Best,

Rogers

  1. I wasn’t following your blog before but I am now. As some one who is in a constant state of reinventing himself, I’d say keep the old stuff up, and even cite it in the new stuff you write about the same material. Could add layer of depth that you otherwise wouldn’t get. Just a thought though.

  2. Welcome back!.. I thought you said something quite significant. I especially like what you said here:

” I’m still considering whether to take down certain past articles or to preserve them as a reminder for what I used to believe. Either way it’s important to note that we don’t always endorse everything we’ve said in the past, ”

How many times have we seen people crucified for things they said 10, 15, 20 or more years ago? People change. We all evolve in our thinking in one way or another, so leave it as a reminder. I, for one will not hold you to past beliefs. It’s human nature to grow and change.
    Glad you’re back!

  3. I hope you find a whole new set of readers (I’m one member of that set), and I’m sure your old readers will rediscover you.

I have also faced the problem of outdated posts. I think that as writers we have a duty not to tamper with the record. If it matters enough, the remedy is to edit in at the beginning a reasoned critique of the abandoned position.. If it’s sufficiently important, you might even want to develop the rebuttal into a new post

  4. Welcome back! I have found that my politics are slightly changing. Now I am curious about your old posts! I don’t always read every post of the sights I follow, but this one caught my eye for some reason. You didn’t say how you have changed, though. That is a story in itself!

  5. Welcome back, from a fellow very infrequent blogger. I am curious as to what you previously said that you would feel the need to take down, because what I read of your words was pretty reasonable. I am also no friend of the fake president, so I cannot imagine how your opinion could have mellowed since he got elected, given that he has done absolutely everything he could to rape the 99 percent, with special malice for those who are not white male protestants.
At any rate, I look forward to seeing what else you come up with.

  6. I found your blog as a result of you dropping by my own and spent last Sunday afternoon reading through your past work. Thought-provoking to say the least.
I’d be interested in how your thoughts and opinions have changed over the past couple of years and will be sure to drop by on a regular basis.
Looking forward to your future contributions.
    Best, Owen.
